The Laniakea Studio & Gallery, an initiative of Laniakea Culture Collective, held an Open House on Saturday, 25 March to celebrate its official opening. The space displays paintings and other artworks by Alaka’i Namiko, who is a well-known artist in the region, and will be her creative headquarters going forward. Laniakea is looking to host various arts- and ministry-related events in this space as well.
The Ka Pa was, of course, a part of the event. Students from both the Saturday and Wednesday classes joined Alaka’i Namiko in dancing a few popular hula, including Hanalei Moon and Ua Mau.
